There are many things you can get your partner this Valentine’s Day like gift baskets, special chocolates or homemade cakes. I will tell you how you can surprise your loved one on Valentine’s Day with just a small idea. You could also use this idea for their birthday too.

The idea is not about what to give them as a gift, but how you deliver your gift. The idea of presenting your surprise should be a romantic experience for them. So, the idea is to plan a treasure hunt in which your partner will have to find the notes and clues. Your partner will read the clues in order to proceed further to the next clue until you finally reveal the ultimate gift to them.

So how do you set one up?

First try to analyze your surroundings and figure out how many notes or clues your partner should find. Don’t use too many clues as the treasure hunt may turn into a whole day event and your partner will get tired. So pick around five to six clues before they reach the final treasure.

Now with these clues you will have to find five or six things or locations of your house to use as hiding spots. These hiding spots could be anything like television, a tree, a table, your bed or anything. Locations should be easy to find. These clues should be in the form of a small two or three lined poem or a note. The note should describe the clue to the next location along with a romantic line about your partner.

When your partner gets the clue, they will start searching for next clues, continuing their treasure hunt. Following through all the clues your partner will finally get to the last and final clue. The final clue should point to the place where you have kept the ultimate gift. Your partner will love this little treasure hunt game and will never forget this day.
